Senior User Experience Architect

The senior user experience (UE) architect leads the design of world-class user experiences for web applications and web sites. We're looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and diligent candidate who wants to work with a variety of top clients. The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  1. BS/BA degree in interaction design, information architecture, technical communication, cognitive psychology, or related field.
  2. 5-7 years of experience as an information architect, content developer/writer, interaction designer, or similar user experience role for websites and web applications.
  3. Demonstrated in-depth understanding of best practices and research-based principles in the following areas:
    • Interaction design
    • Usability and accessibility
    • Information architecture
  4. Experience creating deliverables such as
    • Wireframes
    • Site maps
    • Flow or process diagrams
    • Task analyses
    • Use cases
    • At least 3 work samples are required to apply
  5. Experience gathering and documenting requirements, especially technical requirements
  6. Ability to efficiently create clear documentation for clients and for technical developers.
  7. Ability to confidently advocate for user experience principles and design decisions on a project–in a professional, collaborative manner.
  8. Ability to estimate hours required for own work and meet deadlines.

CSS Designer

The candidate will be part of a team responsible for producing and delivering high-quality production work of online projects for presentation across standard browsers. The candidate will work under the Front End Design Manager and work directly with Creative and Development teams to deliver best practices for optimized production of creative assets.

  • Develop web pages and emails using W3C standards compliant HTML and CSS that is well commented and adheres to best practices for browser compatibility and follows all Spunlogic standards documents.
  • Will convert a single image into HTML composed of multiple images. The images should be converted to the best format for file size optimization while retaining the highest quality image. Will also employ complex image layout techniques that ensure consistency between original design and final code.
  • Perform front end development work including JavaScript, ASP .NET, & PHP programming for sites requiring advanced functionality.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the following software/technologies: HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, and other Web Development/Design software.
  • Thorough understanding of W3C standards, validation, and cross browser presentation.
  • ASP .NET and PHP programming experience.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented to ensure graphic assets are created to specifications and standards.
  • Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of computers and the internet. Must possess extensive understanding of HTML and CSS and the requirements that they place upon design and/or production. Excellence in all aspects of digital production for web work.
  • Able to work well in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while maintaining focus on quality and deadlines.
  • Detail oriented with strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Promote excellence throughout the company and encourage innovation while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • 3 or more years experience in web development, visual design, interface design, information architecture or interaction design for web or software applications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, related fields, or equivalent experience.

Recruitment Coordinator

The Recruiting Coordinator will serve as the internal facing arm of the Spunlogic recruiting team. They will help support the Recruiting Manager by organizing and tracking all candidates funneled through our hiring process as well as doing original sourcing of candidates from time to time.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create and update internal tracking software/docs to monitor candidates through the process
  2. Schedule interviews with hiring managers and executives and coordinate with Recruiting Manager for candidate confirmation
  3. Create and update reports on recruiting related metrics (i.e. – hires per month, turnaround time, cost per hire, etc.)
  4. Update open position report for prioritization of hiring
  5. Collect employee requisition documents from managers and gather needed executive approvals
  6. Update and send a monthly newsletter to the entire company with the list of current open positions
  7. Track and report on all internal referral's
  8. Coordinate with the Project Management team to update the Careers page on the company website
  9. Create and send announcements to company when new employees are hired
  10. Communicate with the HR Coordinator to make sure all documentation for new employees is complete
  11. Communicate with Business Administrator to ensure new employees office placement, computer, and parking needs are taken care of
  12. Use advanced sourcing techniques (including job boards, social networks, online searches, and blogs) to locate and filter possible candidates for open positions
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years experience in recruiting industry
  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with executive and director level management
  • Knowledge of and possibly experience with sourcing techniques
  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word

User Experience Architect

The user experience (UE) architect helps design world-class user experiences for a wide variety of clients' websites, web applications, e-mail campaigns, and more. The UE architect will support senior UE architects on large projects and serve as the UE lead on smaller projects. The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  1. BS/BA degree in information design, information architecture, or related field.
  2. 2-3 years of experience as an information architect, interaction designer, or similar user experience role. School project experience is acceptable
  3. Demonstrated understanding of best practices and research-based principles in at least 2 of the following areas; familiarity with all of the following areas:
    • Information architecture.
    • Information design.
    • Interaction design.
    • Usability and accessibility.
  4. Experience creating deliverables such as content inventories, wireframes, site maps, flow or process diagrams, task analyses, user scenarios and personas, competitive analyses, etc. (Work samples are required to apply.)
  5. Excellent communicator able to
    • Efficiently create clear, error-free deliverables for clients and for our creative design and technical teams.
    • Confidently advocate for user experience principles and design decisions on a project–in a professional, collaborative manner.
    • Occasionally write copy for client e-mails or websites.
  6. Ability to follow direction from a project's user experience lead and/or the Director of User Experience.
  7. Ability to meet deadlines; ability to proactively ask questions or seek assistance if a task is unclear.

Business Analyst

The Business Analyst serves as the liaison between a business unit and the production team they represent. They provide leadership in defining business system requirements and coordinate/lead large or complicated business system projects and/or tasks, as required. Business Analysts must be excellent communicators, tactful diplomats, problem solvers, and thinkers and analyzers - with the ability to understand and respond to user needs in a flexible development environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather business needs from client Subject Matter Experts
  • Analyze business and user needs, and translate them into proper system requirement specifications
  • Write and execute thorough use cases
  • Work with a User Experience Architect to ensure proper translation of business requirements into an effective interface design
  • Be the "go to" person when the production team has questions/issues
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Software Engineer I (PHP Developer)

This position will involve challenging research, development and maintenance work. They will predominantly involve web development in various forms as well as occasional system maintenance tasks. An important aspect of the job will be to research appropriate solutions to problems by leveraging open source market products, customizing and integrating them into inexpensive but valuable solution to business needs.

Candidates will be expected to have a strong grasp of programming concepts in general. They will also need to exhibit a great capacity to learn and be self-motivated. The environment is casual and fun, but also demanding. Team members are generally expected to be involved in multiple steps in the process.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of PHP experience (Preferably with 4.0 and 5.0 experience)
  • 1-3 years of solid Linux experience
  • 1-3 years of MySQL development experience
  • 1-3 years of Apache HTTP Server experience
  • 1-3 years of CSS/XHTML
  • Solid understanding of basic design patterns and OO concepts

Software Engineer II (Coldfusion)

This position will involve maintaining, enhancing and developing Web Applications for one of our largest clients. The Client provides insurance and financial benefit plans to corporate executives. Candidates must have professional consulting abilities to interact with the Client to resolve requirements and verify correctness of application deliverables. Candidates will be expected to have a strong grasp of SQL Server, ColdFusion and Web Technologies (JavaScript, CSS, etc.) in general. They will also need to exhibit a great capacity to learn and be self-motivated. The environment is casual and fun, but also demanding. Team members are generally expected to be involved in multiple steps in the process, often working directly with the customer to resolve issues and define solutions.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of ColdFusion experience (With 6+ and MX experience)
  • 1-3 years of MS SQL Server development experience
  • 1-3 years of IIS experience
  • 1-3 years of CSS/XHTML experience
  • 1-3 years of JavaScript experience

Account Director

Spunlogic is seeking a full time Account Director. The primary role of an Account Director is to effectively manage their clients and work with a Project Manager to ensure project completion and profitability. Account Directors will grow their client relationships, actively participate in sales presentations, and oversee the strategy and development for their clients. In this capacity, Account Directors are the main liaison between the Client and the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Sales
    • Proposals and Estimates
    • SOW's
    • Salesforce.com maintenance and updates
    • Attending and following up from Spunlogic hosted events
    • Meeting with PM's to see what can be sold to client or client has requested
  2. Client Strategy
    • Meeting with client to discuss project and/or campaign strategy
    • Updating client on KPI's for each project and/or campaign
    • Researching new technologies/website functionality they could use to increase project/campaign success
    • Attending conferences or events to extend knowledge of the web development/interactive marketing industry
    • Be the brand ambassador for each client when dealing with internal teams
  3. Client Champion
    • Building relationships between key players in Spunlogic and client's company – touch points, org chart, etc.
    • Attending conferences and events with client to better understand client's business
  4. Billing
    • Request and send all invoices to client
    • Keep the billing spreadsheet up-to-date for their clients
    • Collect overdue invoices from clients
  5. Management
    • Manage and mentor a small team of Account Managers and Account Coordinators
Background Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience in web-related production
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Project
  • Familiarity with Project Management and Time Tracking tools
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • General familiarity of Internet applications and technologies (HTML, Perl, Java, Flash)
  • Strong grammatical/proofing skills
